Fiberglass Blown
Fiberglass insulation is a material used to insulate homes. It can be professionally installed as blown in insulation. Made from small chunks of recycled glass mixed with sand, fiberglass insulation is able to improve sound deadening and resist water absorption.
The R-Value of fiberglass blown in is 2.2 to 2.7 per inch.
The disadvantage of going this direction when insulating your home is that the R-Value decreases as the fiberglass insulations start to settle over the years. The rule of thumb is to reblow your home with fiberglass insulation every 5 years. That's why we recommend Spray Foam because once it is installed it is good for life.
